OTP banka is the first Croatian bank to introduce EFTPOS payment terminals powered by Android into its operations, which make it easier for the bank’s clients to integrate their own business applications on one device
ETRANET Group has delivered the first quantities of smart Android EFTPOS terminals to its long-term partner OTP banka.
With this, OTP banka became the first Croatian bank to introduce EFTPOS payment terminals powered by Android into its operations, which facilitate the integration of business applications on one device for the bank’s clients, along with the simple and safe use of various contracted bank services.
These versatile and robust portable devices are characterized by a large touch screen, fast printing and a long autonomy time, as well as all the necessary connectivity options (LTE/WiFi/Bluetooth). By simply adding a base, they can be turned into a fixed device with wired network connectivity, making it easier for the bank to meet the needs of clients looking for flexibility of use in one device.
Finally, with resistance to a fall from a height of 1.5 meters and resistance to dust ingress and splashing water according to the IP54 standard, these devices are also ATEX certified, which makes them particularly suitable for use in environments where there is a possibility of explosion or ignition of gases, such as gasoline stations, and in the chemical and petrochemical industry in general.
Since the devices are powered by the Android operating system, the bank’s clients can easily integrate their own existing business applications on one device. For example, courier services can use the basic functionality of the device as a payment terminal for cash on delivery payments in the field, while at the same time drivers in the courier service application manage routes, redirect shipments, confirm delivery by scanning barcodes from packages, and the like.
Furthermore, these ATEX certified devices at gas stations can be placed at individual pumps, where in addition to card payment for sold petroleum products without entering the store area, the customer at the terminals can also buy vouchers for mobile phones, pay bills using 2D barcodes and perform other actions for which the retail the service has pre-existing Android applications.
As Petar Markač, Director of Global Transaction Banking at OTP Bank points out: “By introducing these modern payment terminals based on the Android operating system, OTP Bank provides the best basis for meeting the needs of all our clients, regardless of the business environment and place of use. The exceptional flexibility of using the device as a portable or fixed terminal with different connection methods enables simpler installation and reduces the total costs of the entire process. Finally, these devices will simplify the use of their existing and future business Android applications for the bank’s clients, and enable OTP Bank to more easily offer additional services in the future in cooperation with partners”.
“We are extremely proud that OTP banka has once again recognized ETRANET Group as a reliable partner for payment terminals and electronic transactions, which can prepare and deliver large quantities of EFTPOS terminals in a short period of time, while respecting all security standards and providing maintenance services throughout Croatia.” , said Damir Lesničar, CEO of ETRANET Group.
